Cooking (with real ingredients) is a bit of a new thing for me. I used
to belong to the microwave and telephone fraternity. But now its not just
me eating I have got into havinga go and maing something from scratch.
I particularly enjoy a number of Jamie Oliver's recipes - particularly
from his "Return of the Naked Chef" volume.
Here are some of my faves

Braised five hour lamb |
page 174 |
Delicious, the meat just falls off the bone
and the sauce is great for dipping fresh-baked bread. |
Tray-baked pork chops with herby potaoes, parsnips,
pears and minted bread sauce |
page 180 |
Quick and easy. Don't need to bother with the
minted bread sauce if you don't want to. I cover the tin for most
ofthe time to stop the chops etc. burning. |
Chicken Bonne Femme |
|
A really simple recipe - basically a chicken,
some new potatoes and shallots, bacon and herbs. |
Fantastic fish pie |
page 159 |
Best with Cod and unsmoked Haddock - through
in some prawns or scallops for a bit more luxury. |
Peter's lamb curry |
page 190 |
The most complicated recipe I do but worth the
effort. You need to get good juicy lamb or otherwise don't bother.
Probably best prepared the night before and left to stand. |
