Fave recipes

Cooking (with real ingredients) is a bit of a new thing for me. I used to belong to the microwave and telephone fraternity. But now its not just me eating I have got into havinga go and maing something from scratch.

I particularly enjoy a number of Jamie Oliver's recipes - particularly from his "Return of the Naked Chef" volume.

Here are some of my faves

Name Page Comments
Braised five hour lamb page 174 Delicious, the meat just falls off the bone and the sauce is great for dipping fresh-baked bread.
Tray-baked pork chops with herby potaoes, parsnips, pears and minted bread sauce page 180 Quick and easy. Don't need to bother with the minted bread sauce if you don't want to. I cover the tin for most ofthe time to stop the chops etc. burning.
Chicken Bonne Femme   A really simple recipe - basically a chicken, some new potatoes and shallots, bacon and herbs.
Fantastic fish pie page 159 Best with Cod and unsmoked Haddock - through in some prawns or scallops for a bit more luxury.
Peter's lamb curry page 190 The most complicated recipe I do but worth the effort. You need to get good juicy lamb or otherwise don't bother. Probably best prepared the night before and left to stand.
